You’re Not a Bad Parent: Frustration is Normal

Hey everyone,

It’s okay to feel frustrated, angry, or overwhelmed when you’re a parent of a child with a disability. It doesn’t make you a bad parent. It makes you human.

Let’s face it, all kids – even those without disabilities – can drive their parents a little crazy sometimes. It’s part of the normal parent-child dynamic. My kids? They definitely know how to push my buttons! And you know what? Sometimes I just want to run away and join the circus!

But here’s the thing: it’s perfectly normal to feel that way. We all have our moments. The key is to deal with those emotions in a healthy and responsible way. If you need help, get help. If you need a break, take a break. Do whatever you need to do to process those feelings.

Remember, you’re not alone. We’re all in this together. So stop beating yourself up and start focusing on all the amazing things you’re doing for your child. You’re doing a great job, and your child is lucky to have you.
